UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE
Cévennes National Park
Close to the Gorges du Tarn and the Jonte, Château d’Ayres is the ideal starting point to discover all the charms of Lozère.
The Jonte Gorges are home to a colony of griffon vultures. This species was reintroduced in the early 1980s. There are observation points between Le Truel and Le Rozier (15km from Meyrueis) to watch these birds of prey in flight. You can also get a closer look by rock climbing; the Jonte Gorges contain numerous climbing routes established for all skill levels.
Whether on horseback, on foot, by mountain bike, or by car, we offer you the opportunity to discover the gastronomic, cultural, and touristic richness of the region.
